Jim Brightwell’s letter “So sad to see it close down”, Your Views, September 22, inferred Mill Hill Garden Centre was the only stockist of Fatsias in the area.
I am the manager of Finchley Nurseries Garden Centre, based in Mill Hill since 1932.
We stock a wide range of shrubs, perennials, bedding, house plants and tropical and pond fish. Fatsias are always a stock item.
We have a strong client base which uses our garden centre on a regular basis.
We might be tucked away off the Ridgeway, but have a large site with nearly five acres of land Mill Hill Garden Centre has been showing a sign implying it was the only garden centre in town and directing customers to other sites many miles away.
This is totally misleading to Mill Hill’s community and a waste of their time.
I would invite everyone in Mill Hill and surrounding areas to visit us and see what the friendly, charming and well- stocked nursery we are.
Mr Brightwell: we look forward to welcoming you at our garden centre.
