It perhaps shows how far Barnet have come in the last month that coming back from behind to draw 2-2 with Oxford United left Edgar Davids "not really satisfied".

The Bees upturn in form since the Dutchman’s arrival has seen three wins in eight matches and just two defeats.

Barnet went ahead against Oxford after four minutes when Jake Hyde headed in from a Mark Byrne corner.

Sean Rigg replied just 90 seconds later before Andrew Whing put the U’s ahead one minute after half time. The Bees battled back though and Ricky Holmes crossed for Hyde to touch home the equaliser.

Reflecting on the game, joint Barnet head coach Davids said: "I’m not really satisfied with a point because we could’ve won the game. In the first half we conceded from a set-piece and in the second it is the same thing.

"The thing is with set-pieces is that you can work at them all you want but you have to be sharp in those situations.

"It is the same for every team and until you do that then you will not win the games."

He continued: "Oxford have a very good side. I’ve seen them play a lot of times and where they are in the table doesn’t reflect their qualities to be honest. But that is football "But I’m pleased we showed we can play better than a top side than Oxford."

Davids was in the dugout for the game after he was sent off after receiving two yellow cards against Accrington Stanley.

His absence saw the Bees switch to a midfield diamond with Holmes playing behind Jon Nurse and Hyde.

When asked if he was pleased with how Barnet adapted to the change, Davids said: "They did very well. I’m happy about that but I am also happy that the players now understand what is demanded and how we need to play.

"They have adapted to a new system so there is a lot of progression that we have booked."
