Barnet have signed Andy Iro and George Barker on loan while Dutchman Melvin Holwijn has agreed a non-contract terms with the Bees.

Young striker Barker has joined from Brighton and Hove Albion until January 5. The 21-year-old is Albion's development squad's top scorer having netted 12 goals in all competitions this season.

Barker was named on the bench for Brighton's 5-1 win over Barnsley earlier this season.

Iro has agreed a loan move from League One Stevenage until January. The 22-year-old centre-back joined Boro in the summer from MLS side Toronto FC but has yet to feature since his arrival.

Barnet joint head coach Mark Robson told the club website: “Andy has played much of his career in the MLS and came over to Stevenage in the summer.

"I’d previously spoken to Stevenage manager Gary Smith in the summer about an opportunity to have got Andy and now we’re now delighted to have him in on loan to further strengthen our defensive line. He’s 6”5, has plenty of experience and we hope he’ll be an asset for us at both ends of the pitch."

He added: “George is a young forward from Brighton who has come through their youth system who potentially has a lot to offer us.

"He’s a natural goal scorer that hasn’t been given an opportunity at Brighton due to the quality of their first team strikers, but we hope that by coming here to Barnet that he’ll gets the opportunity to show his qualities and to give us another option up front.”

Holwijn, who spent time in the Ajax Academy as a youngster, is a 32-year-old striker who is also comfortable on the wing.

He has played across Europe with a spell in Greece at Iraklis Thessalonik and a year in Germany with FC Carl Zeiss Jena as well as several clubs in his native Holland.

Holwijn joins on non-contract terms and the Bees are awaiting international clearance issues to be resolved.
