Saracens director of rugby Mark McCall admits the team are looking forward to leaving Vicarage Road but added the Men in Black will be leaving behind a stadium that has been a fortress for them in recent years.

Although McCall's men will play one more fixture at the Vic against Edinburgh in the Heineken Cup on January 20, Sarries played their last ever league match in front of the yellow seats against Sale on Sunday after a 14-year stay.

McCall said: "I know Vicarage Road gets a bad rap but at the same time the club has been here a long time.

"And in the last couple of seasons we've done really well here despite everything, we've actually done really well and our record here is really good.

"However we have something very exciting to look forward to and the guys had their first training session at Allianz Park in the week and the players are incredibly excited about having their own home for the first time."

McCall is right to hail Saracens' strong record at Vicarage Road where they have only lost four league matches since the start of the 2009/2010 season.

In that period Sarries have played 31 Premiership matches there, winning 26, and drawing just one.

In total Saracens have hosted 159 games at Vicarage Road. They have won 113, lost 43 and drawn three.

Saracens play their first senior match at their new home at Allianz Park on February 16 when they host Exeter Chiefs.
