Defender Jonathan Fortune has left Barnet by mutual consent after making just eight appearances for the club.

The former Charlton Athletic player joined the Bees in the summer on a free transfer and was handed the captaincy at the start of the season.

The 32-year-old started Barnet’s first five matches of the campaign but the signing of loanee Krystian Pearce saw him lose his place in the side.

Fortune had not started a League Two fixture since September 1 and his last appearance for the Bees came in the 1-1 draw with Accrington Stanley.
