Wingate and Finchley secured an important three points in the Ryman Premier Division after claiming a 2-1 win against Harrow Borough.
The Blues took the lead in the game in the eighth minute as Anthony Thomas found the net from 20 yards after a clever pass from Wayne O’Sullivan.
Wingate looked likely to add to their advantage throughout the half but against the run of play Harrow levelled as Saheed Sanko slotted in from close range.
In the second period Harrow began brightly but nine minutes after the restart they were down to ten men as goalkeeper Elvijs Putnins handled outside of the area.
With no substitute stopper, centre-back Danny Leech went between the posts and from that point Wingate took control.
O’Sullivan then came close as his shot bounced against the post but soon after he cut in from the left before firing into the corner to secure victory for the Blues.
