A narrow 13-12 victory over Wasps Amateurs helped Barnet Elizabethans move out of the bottom four places in London Three North West League.

Elizabethans started the game poorly and conceded a converted try inside 90 seconds when wave after wave of Wasps' possession forced a breach in the home defence.

After their slow start, Barnet managed to maintain possession in Wasps territory. Glyn Bayley just missed out on one attack but Lloyd Morgan finished off a series of moves for a try.

Elizabethans then went ahead as Jonathan Hart kicked over a penalty but their lead was short-lived as Wasps replied before the break with a try to lead 12-8.

There was little between the teams in the second half and Barnet missed thee good opportunities to go over.

However, they continued to pressure Wasps and Willy Pritchard made the breakthrough to score his second try in two matches.

In the latter stages, the home defence held firm leaving the visitors to attempt long range kicks without success.

Barnet will look to build on the victory as they travel to fifth place London New Zealand on Saturday.
