Barnet boss Edgar Davids is pleased that players are making an impact from the substitute’s bench and believes it takes the Bees to a "higher level".

In the 2-0 victory over Rotherham United on Saturday, the Dutchman was replaced by Andy Yiadom and the winger went on to score Barnet’s second goal which sealed an impressive victory.

Barnet’s bench also included Taiwo Atieno, who scored on his full debut and Clovis Kamdjo and John Oster - two of the Bees standout players this season.

Davids stated he is still looking to improve areas of his squad but feels everybody is “focused, hungry and ready to play” if they are selected.

He explained: “We are still looking for areas of the squad we can improve. If you look at the players on the bench, everybody is at a certain level so it doesn’t affect the side.

“They are focused, hungry and ready to play. That is what we want, people coming off the bench and they are bringing the team to the higher level.

“In the past it was different. We now have people coming off the bench and doing well instead of diminishing the quality.

“So that is a sign of progress and we want to get people in to get us to an even higher level than we are now.”
