Edgar Davids believes Barnet are getting “better and better” after the Bees 0-0 draw against Port Vale.

However, the Dutchman added his side lacked “that clinical finish” which would have turned the draw into victory.

Barnet dominated the first half and were unfortunate not to go into the interval ahead after creating several good opportunities.

The second period was tighter and Vale goalkeeper Chris Neal did brilliantly to deny John Oster from close range.

League Two top scorer Tom Pope had the Valiants best chance but his header struck the bottom of the post and the Bees deserved their point.

Davids said: "If you have a display of football like this against the top of the league than you can't ask for more. We played such great football and it's getting better and better.

“Hopefully the three points will come. Technically we were great and in attack we were great.

"When you play against Port Vale it's hard because they're a team in form. You don't know what to expect. We could've had three points.

He continued: "We lack that clinical finish. We played well but in the final third we have to score the goals. If you play well and it is 1-0 or 2-0 then you be more relaxed.

"Every game is a final for us and with Barnet you don't know what to expect. But I hope we can continue playing the good football we are playing.”
