The Avenue Tennis Club is offering a month's free membership and four weeks free coaching

After undergoing a facelift over winter, The Avenue Tennis Club is offering players a month’s free membership and four weeks free coaching throughout March.
The club, which is in Finchley central, has three new courts and a new clubhouse.
The second phase of the redevelopment programme, which begins imminently, will see the installation of floodlights and a smaller sized court designed for juniors.
Head coach Sally Bentley said: “It is the funding from Sport England that has made this possible. When I came to club three years ago, it was a shadow of what is it now, with very poor courts, a quaint little green garden shed for a clubhouse, and no more than ten members.
“My aim is to get people in the community surrounding the tennis club playing tennis, walking to play tennis; encouraging teenagers to play whether competitively or socially and getting families to play together. I want to make tennis everyone’s first choice for sport”.
