Barnet Elizabethans bounced back from their defeat against Imperial Medicals with a 13-7 victory at home to Datchworth in London Three North West League.

Elizabethans began the game strongly but were unable to make the breakthrough until just before the interval when Glyn Bayley fired over a penalty.

The home pack then started to drive the visiting pack backwards and two such drives led to a brace of tries for flanker Lloyd Morgan.

Jim Mansfield and Ricky Stevens both produced impressive displays while James Oram won a lot of front lineout ball.

In the final ten minutes, Barnet gave away too many penalties before the referee awarded a penalty try to Datchworth.

It proved nothing more than a late consolation though and Elizabethans secured four valuable match points.

Barnet face Hitchin at home in the League on Saturday.
