Barnet v Fleetwood Town - Preview
12:26pm Tuesday 19th March 2013 in Sport
Edgar Davids believes Barnet will come up against “one of the best teams in the league” this evening as the Bees welcome Fleetwood Town to Underhill.
The Cod Army are currently ninth in the League Two table but their playoff push has stuttered in recent weeks.
Graham Alexander’s men have won just one of their last seven league matches and were beaten 3-0 by strugglers Plymouth Argyle at the weekend.
The Bees suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat against bottom of the table Accrington Stanley on Saturday but Davids hopes his side will bounce back from the defeat.
The Dutchman said: “The second half display against Accrington is something for us to build on. I think Fleetwood are one of the best teams in the league though.
“The frustration for me is that are a making individual errors that are costing us. We have only been outplayed twice since I arrived.
“That was away at Morecambe and against Oxford (United) in the FA Cup. If we lose to the better team I have peace with that and I applaud it.”
The Bees head coach added: “We have come a long way. A lot of people forget that. We have come from being at the bottom of the table to where we are now.
“We have the chance to escape relegation now. It is a long road and it is still no finished.”
Davids could be available for the game after appealing the red card he received against Accrington. A decision is expected to be made this afternoon.
The Bees have no fresh injury concerns and John Oster, Craig Beattie and Jake Hyde are all expected to feature after playing against Stanley.
When the two sides met earlier in the season Barnet, who had goalkeeper Graham Stack sent off in the first half, were beaten 2-1. Hyde scored the Bees goal.
