York City boss Nigel Worthington says he could not afford to sign Barnet striker Jake Hyde

York City boss Nigel Worthington has ruled out a deadline day move for Jake Hyde and says the Minstermen could not afford to sign the striker.
Hyde was the Bees top scorer last season and has carried his form into the current campaign, netting five times in six matches.
Barnet boss Edgar Davids admitted last week that there had been interest in the 23-year-old but, according to Worthington, the Bees are looking for a sizable offer.
He told The Press: “We did consider him in the summer but he’s scoring goals at Barnet.
“He’s their player and I wouldn’t think they would fancy letting him join anybody. The price on his head would also be far too much. We have got to be realistic and work accordingly.”
