Barnet Elizabethans suffered a 14-9 defeat against Fullerians in the Hertfordshire Presidents' Tankard
1:00pm Thursday 5th September 2013 in Sport
Barnet Elizabethans exited the Hertfordshire Presidents' Tankard in the first round following a 14-9 defeat against Fullerians but there were plenty of positives to take from the game for new coach Bobby Graham.
The new-look youthful Elizabethans side were under pressure throughout the first half but went in just 7-6 behind following two successful kicks from debutant Charlie Mays.
Shortly after the restart, Mays kicked over again to put Elizabethans ahead but Fullers fought back and a second converted try sealed the win in a tight second half.
The next game for Barnet is on September 14 when they are at home to Imperial Medicals in the first league match at 3pm.
