Saracens make just one change for first home game of the season against Gloucester Rugby in the Premiership
12:19pm Friday 13th September 2013 in Sport
Saracens have made just one change from the side that beat London Irish last weekend as Duncan Taylor replaces Brad Barritt ahead of this Sunday's game against Gloucester Rugby.
It was not clear why Barritt had been left out on Thursday but Sarries announced this morning that the England centre has undergone corrective surgery on ligaments in his foot, and will not play again until "towards the end of 2013."
Summer signing James Johnston is named in the squad for the first time but is among the replacements for the Men in Black's first home match of the season.
Will Fraser and Alex Goode are both still recovering from shoulder operations and are out while Charlie Hodgson (achilles), Kelly Brown (ankle) and Neil de Kock (foot) are also missing.
For Gloucester, Tavis Knoyle will make his first Premiership start since joining from the Scarlets in the summer while Fijian international flanker Akapusi Qera starts in the back row.
Sione Kalamafoni comes in for Ben Morgan at number eight but otherwise Gloucester have named much the same team that suffered a surprise defeat to Sale Sharks last weekend.
