Hendon beaten 50-13 by youthful Saracens Amateurs
1:00pm Friday 27th September 2013 in Sport
Hendon were well beaten by a youthful Saracens Amateurs side that used their superior fitness in the second half to win 50-13.
Saracens went ahead after Dom Smart went over in the corner for a converted try.
Hendon answered with a try of their own, Scott Handley taking Mark Ivers’ pass and going over for an unconverted try.
The visitors slowed the game down with ruck and maul moves but a kick over the Sarries backs was collected by full-back Rob Eston and he ran through the Hendon defence to score.
Good play by the Hendon forwards led to a defensive error by Saracens which allowed Handley to add three points with a kick.
Two tries were then scored in quick succession, one for each side. Felix Brasseur powered through for the Saracens, before Buzz Nunez scored in the corner after good work from Ivers and scrum-half JP Cremin.
The half ended with Saracens adding another penalty, leaving the score at 24-13.
Sarries outlasted the Hendon effort and routed the visitors in the second half.
Four unanswered tries from Brasseur, Eston, Jamie Connolly and Jack Goldberg racked up the final score.
Hendon will hope to bounce back against West London on Saturday.
