It was mission complete against Zebre on Saturday with Saracens notching up all five available points.

In the same pool, Connacht surprised Toulouse away from home meaning that Pool Three is looking tight at the top with the French side leading the way thanks to their higher points tally.

The third try in Sarries' total of five however had slightly more significance than just being one step closer to the all important bonus point.

It signaled that Chris Wyles had become the Men in Black’s leading Heineken Cup try-scorer with eight, overtaking club legend Richard Hill.

Yes, this might not be the most impressive tally of tries in the world or the biggest feat, after all Heineken Cup rugby had eluded Saracens for so long but it was an accolade for one of the club’s less celebrated players.

Wyles is a vital cog for both club and country, slotting in to wherever he is needed in the backline.

He is consistent, hard working and never lets the side down.

He is Saracens’ Mr Dependable.

The American international has scored in every Heineken Cup game for Saracens’ so far this season and he has also notched up the most minutes played for the club this season - the only game he has missed being Exeter away.

Even that wasn’t time away from rugby for Wyles who instead graced the familiar home turf of Allianz Park in his country’s colours against Russia and crossing the whitewash on that occasion too.

Rugby is a team game.

Not everybody can dazzle oppositions like Schalk Brits or tackle like Jacques Burger but beneath those that constantly grab headlines and man-of-the-match awards there are players like Wyles, who are invaluable to the club and deserve every accolade and award that come their way.

They should have their praises shouted from the roof tops.
