Barnet’s Jon Nurse has apologised for his “poor challenge” which left Luton Town’s Jonathan Smith with a possible broken leg.
Nurse’s late tackle on the Hatters midfielder was, eventually, punished with a red card and the Bees striker says he didn’t mean to cause any injury.
He told the Barnet website: "I really didn't mean to hurt the lad, I caught him very badly and it was a poor challenge.
"I'm very sorry and I apologise to Jonathan, the rest of the Luton Town players, John Still and the Luton Town supporters. I wish him a speedy recovery."
Nurse, who was visibly upset, visited the Luton Town dressing room after the game to apologise.
