Saracens wrapped up an easy 26-8 Aviva Premiership victory to remain in charge at the top of the table and leave opponents Worcester staring ominously at the relegation trap door.

The Londoners were favourites to win by a bigger margin but their four tries, which came via wing David Strettle, hooker Schalk Brits, full-back Alex Goode and fly-half Charlie Hodgson, were good enough.

The stand-off converted three of the touchdowns.

After falling behind to an early penalty, the visitors got their first try on the board when Chris Wyles broke through some poor defending to set up Strettle for his seventh score of the campaign.

Hodgson missed with the conversion but made no mistake with his second attempt after Brits had supported a Goode break to touch down under the posts.

Worcester were the architects of their own downfall for the visitors' third try; Jeremy Su'a slicing a kick into the air and Sarries collected the ball and recycling it before Tim Streather showed fine strength to break through the midfield and set up Goode for the try, which Hodgson again converted.

Saracens' fourth try before the interval was thanks to a moment of individual quality from Hodgson, who chipped over the defence and gathered his own kick to race away and score.

Ater Mako Vuniploa had been sin-binned following an off-the-ball incident, Worcester were able to cut the deficit to 18 points before the break when Leonardo Senatore touched down.

To their credit, the Warriors continued to battle away in the second half, subjecting their opponents to considerable pressure but neither side was able to put anymore points on the board.
