The 2013/2014 season has seen somewhat of a change in fortunes for Saracens.

A team that has often been accused of being pragmatic and boring is now being championed as a real attacking force.

Mark McCall’s men have scored more points than any other team with 362 and nearest rivals Northampton 41 points behind.

In racking up this tally, Saracens have scored 38 tries in comparison to the 41 times they crossed the whitewash last season.

This campaign has seen more bonus points than the whole of the 2012/2013 season with six being secured already.

The defence may not be as watertight as in seasons gone by - although the return of Brad Barritt could possibly change this - but they have broadened their style of play.

No longer are Saracens rubbished for their close quarters powerful game but are seen as one of the attacking forces in the Premiership.

Sunday will see Saracens take on the biggest challenge of the season so far, a trip to the Stade Ernest Wallon to take on Toulouse.

The former Heineken Cup champions go in to the game on the back of beating league leaders Clermont Auvergne 19-12 to keep them in the hunt for a top 14 play-off place.

As the previous game against these two sides showed, you cannot play Toulouse and expect to outmuscle them.

They are a massive side with a lot of experience; they have been there and done it on many occasions.

Sarries had the upper hand for much of the game at Wembley and simply failed to put enough points on the board while they had the pressure.

Since that day, Sarries seem to have hit the attack button, going out and blowing sides away early on with a series of tries.

I am not suggesting that Sarries will go out and run riot against their opponents but the past few weeks has given more hope that they can not only battle it out but use their extensive collection of attacking weapons too. Therefore providing an element of doubt as to which Sarries will turn up.

However nothing is won in January and as nice as it is to see Saracens receiving staunch praise instead of criticism, what will be much more pleasing is for them to continue in this vein of form and sign the season off in style by winning silverware.
