There was a strong start to the indoor season for Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers’ Lia Raduus, who set a new club record in the Under-13 800m.

Raduus clocked 2.32.56 which eclipsed Donna Ross’ time of 2.43.50 which was set on 25 February 1989.

Confidence Lawson was also in action at Lee Valley and clinched an impressive time of 6.85 in the 60m.

County Cross Country Championships were held up and down England at the weekend and the stand-out displays from Shaftesbury athletes came at Luton and Dorking.

Under-17 competitor Jamal Lewis was second in 20.32 at Luton while Kojo Kyereme (V35) was third in the senior category at Dorking after clocking 44.26.
