Former Barnet winger Mark Marshall has joined Coventry City following the completion of his two-year drugs ban.

The 26-year-old tested positive for a banned stimulant following Barnet's 3-0 defeat against Accrington Stanley on Boxing Day 2011.

Marshall played four more games for the Bees before it was revealed he had failed a drugs test.

His last professional match came on January 14, 2012, as Barnet recorded a 3-0 victory against Accrington Stanley.

Marshall's ban was imposed the following May and he left Barnet that summer when his contract came to an end.

He has been training with the Sky Blues for the past week and did enough to impress manager Steven Pressley.

Marshall told the Coventry's website: "I can't wait until that first moment when I get back on the pitch.

"It is going to be an unbelievable feeling and hopefully I will be able to make an impact at the club.

"When a club like this comes knocking, you can't turn it down."
