Ulrich Landvreugd says Barnet’s players must be “prepared and ready” for what could be a defining month in their season.

The Bees’ trip to Forest Green Rovers was postponed on Saturday and will now take place on February 25.

It was the club’s second successive Skrill Premier fixture to be called off. EverMatches have been rearranged and Barnet play seven league games by March 15.

Landvreugd believes the strong Bees squad will prove important during the coming weeks as the club looks to make a late play-off charge.

He said: “We are going to have to play a lot of games in a short time and I think it is very important that the whole squad are prepared and ready for that.

“I’ve never seen it before where you could play five or six matches in just two weeks but the players are fit and if we do pick up injuries, then we have players that can come in and do a good job for the team.”

Barnet have not played since the end of January when Landvreugd and fellow joint head coach Dick Schreuder’s reign got off to a winning start with a 1-0 success against Southport.

Given their recent cancellations, could a lack of match fitness be a problem? “I don’t think so,” Landvreugd said.

“We have been training well and last week we played a friendly against Dagenham & Redbridge. We’ve also done 11 versus 11 matches to keep sharp.

“We were told on the Thursday that the Forest Green game could be off so we were slightly expecting it. We don’t want to be playing on a pitch like we did against Luton because that doesn’t help us at all.

“Of course we would rather play on a Saturday than in midweek but it is not always possible with the weather.

“The time we haven’t played has given us the chance for little injuries to fix themselves so we should have an almost fit squad for the game on Saturday.”
