Finchley ABC youngster Eunnis Chaima has made it through to the semi-final of the National ABA Youth Championship Under-64kg competition.
Chaima was up against Woking ABC’s George Lamport in the last-eight stage and started the first round confidently. He worked the body before landing several head shots.
The Finchley fighter’s busier work rate combined with him switching from body to head in the third made the decision a formality. Elsewhere, Finchley’s Patrick McDonagh took on Ahmed Khan and worked hard throughout the contest to be named winner on points.
Finchley senior Jonathan Kumuteo boxed Double Jab ABC’s Gary Hunter-Marsh at the Hornchurch & Elm Park ABC show on Saturday.
Kumuteo began the first round driving his opponent onto the back foot with straight lefts and rights and never let up the pace.
The second was contested at the same frenetic speed but Kumuteo dug in and was still on top.
In the third round of the contest, Hunter-Marsh realised he was behind and threw everything he had into one last effort but it wasn’t enough and Kumuteo was declared the winner.
