Scott Moore scored the first ever Super League try at The Hive but it wasn't enough to prevent his London Broncos side from being on the sore end of a 44-18 defeat to Salford Red Devils.

Moore wrote his name into Hive history when he crossed the whitewash to put the Broncos ahead after just 11 minutes of their maiden match at their new home which they share with Barnet Football Club.

But then the Devils went on to ruin the housewarming party. They equalised shortly after through Harrison Hansen with Jake Mullaney adding the extras.

The visitors went ahead as Danny Williams went over and then Hansen added his second try of the contest which Mullaney converted.

Salford then grabbed two tries in three minutes before the interval. Theo Fages touched down before Tim Smith went in under the posts.

The home side rallied in the second period but failed to take advantage when Gareth Hock was sin-binned.

The Red Devils added to their lead via Mullaney, which he subsequently converted, and Francis Meli strolled over.

Broncos grabbed late consolation tries from George Griffin and Mike McMeekan either side of a second score from Fages.
