Hendon are through to the semi-finals of the Middlesex Vase after beating Mill Hill 17-11.
Hendon started cautiously against their lower-league opponents and soon found themselves 6-0 behind thanks to two penalty conversions.
This seemed to wake Hendon up and soon Mike Evans-Jones kicked three points to reduce the deficit.
The away side were dealt a blow though when Evans-Jones was shown a yellow card for a repeated offside offence.
Despite being down to 14 men in the second half, it was Hendon who were still the aggressors.
Evans-Jones returned to the action and grabbed a try after some fine play from Brian O’Regan and Judah Simpson down the wing.
Hendon then sealed a deserved victory when Gerry O’Donoghue finished off a fine backs move and Evans-Jones duly converted.
A consolation try for Mill Hill in the dying minutes finished off the scoring.
