London Broncos have clarified former assistant coach Sean Long’s departure, stating he “did not meet the professional levels expected at the club”.
Long announced he was quitting the Broncos last week claiming the club had wanted to make his role part-time.
The Broncos have disputed this and say the 37-year-old’s dismissal was down to his failure to meet expectations.
Broncos released a statement which read: “The London Broncos would like to clarify the situation concerning Sean Long.
“Unfortunately, Sean’s performances as an assistant coach did not meet the professional levels expected at the club. As a result his position as full-time assistant is no longer continuing.
“Whilst this decision had to be made by the club, we do wish Sean the best for the future.”
