Hendon left it late to secure a bonus-point 20-12 victory against Ickenham in Herts/Middlesex League Two.
Hendon missed an early penalty and Ickenham punished them as they went ahead with a penalty of their own.
From the restart, Paul Geraghty collected the high ball and offloaded to Harry Charles. He ran from halfway before passing to Jamie Connolly who crossed the line for an unconverted try.
Hendon added a second try moments later. Geraghty was again the instigator as he passed to Charles, who crashed through several challenges before moving the ball to Mike Evan-Jones to touch down.
Hendon’s defence was put to the test in the following 15 minutes as Ickenham’s heavier pack dominated.
However, Hendon held out and extended their advantage as Brian O’Regan ran from halfway to score a third unconverted try.
The visitors conceded a try at the end of the half but went in at the break 15-6 ahead.
Ickenham added two further penalties in the second period but Hendon responded and Charles went over for the second time to secure the bonus point and seal victory.
Hendon are away to Thamesians this weekend.
Barnet Elizabethans secured a bonus point but were beaten 23-22 by Bank of England in Herts/Middlesex One while Mill Hill suffered a heavy 43-15 defeat to Herts/Middlesex Three leaders London French.
