Barnet joint head coach Dick Schreuder felt the Bees performed well during their 1-0 defeat to Kidderminster Harriers but admitted the “little details” ultimately settled the match.

The Bees had several chances throughout the contest but were unable to find the net. That proved costly as Michael Gash struck what proved to be the winning goal on the hour.

Barnet goalkeeper Graham Stack was later sent off after committing a professional foul when substitute Marvin Johnson was through on goal.

“We are disappointed with the result. We needed a point for sure but if you’re not sharp it can cost you,” Schreuder said.

“We are more disappointed we didn’t score ourselves. We had enough opportunities. If you don’t play well then you don’t get many corners. If you do play well, you tend to.

“In the first half we had four or five corners in ten minutes and in the second half we were good and had more corners.

“We had a few chances in the second half and could’ve been one or two goals ahead.”

On Stack’s red card, Schreuder added: “I didn’t see it well. I know he came out and then the ball didn’t bounce very high, that is why he made the decision.

“I think the mistake was earlier because Andy Yiadom was to too high up the pitch and the guy was on his own.

“If Andy wasn’t as high then maybe he could’ve headed the ball. That is a little detail but those little details do make the difference.”

The Bees have now lost their last three Skrill Premier and have only scored once in those matches. However, Schreuder was encouraged by the number of chances his side created.

“I still feel confident because that is what the game told us today,” he said.

“If you want to win you need to score. You want to look at the positives but sometimes that is difficult because it is about the results at the end of the day. And the result today isn’t good enough.”
