Wingate & Finchley’s inconsistent month continued. The Blues were beaten 1-0 by Billericay Town on Tuesday in the Ryman Premier but they fared better on Saturday as they defeated Bury Town 1-0.
It was a tight encounter against Billericay and the game was settled by a second-half penalty.
Ahmet Rifat was deemed to have committed a foul and Richard Hall confidently dispatched the resultant spot-kick.
On Saturday, Josh Kennet’s 14th-minute goal settled the match against Bury and Wingate currently sit eight points above the relegation zone.
