In the absence of league action on Saturday, Hendon were beaten 44-31 in a friendly against Essec B.S Paris.

Essec took a 5-0 lead inside five minutes, but were pegged back when Elliot Brown scored and converted his own try.

Two further Essec tries put the visitors 17-7 ahead before Judah Simpson scored a converted try to close the gap.

Both sides scored against before the break, to leave the score finely balanced at 22-19 in Essec's favour.

The French side further established their lead after the break with another converted try.

Essec added another five points despite Hendon's best efforts to make in 34-19 in their favour.

Man of the Match Brown then grabbed two tries in quick succession, but the visitors found two further tries of their own to
