Saracens have allayed injury fears surrounding their England fly-half Owen Farrell.

Farrell went off at half-time in Saracens' 28-24 victory over Aviva Premiership title rivals Northampton two days ago because of a foot problem.

But subsequent medical checks have delivered a positive outcome.

"Owen Farrell will resume training towards the end of this week," Saracens said on their official website.

"The Saracens and England fly-half sustained a foot injury during the match against Northampton Saints on Sunday, but scans have indicated no serious damage."

The news will come as a considerable boost to Saracens rugby director Mark McCall as preparations begin to gather pace for a Heineken Cup semi-final showdown with French heavyweights Clermont Auvergne at Twickenham on April 26.
