Saracens backrow Jacques Burger has been nominated for the Premiership Player of the Season award.

The 30-year-old Namibian is one of six players to have been picked for the shortlist, with the winner to be announced at the Premiership's end of season awards at the Hilton on May 15.

Burger has been impressive on his return to action for Sarries after spending 18 months on the sidelines following injury.

The Namibian captain has been an integral part of Mark McCall's side, making 14 Premiership appearances and setting the record for the number of tackles in a game against the Exeter Chiefs in November.

Dan Braid (Sale Sharks), Mike Brown (Harlequins), Vereniki Goneva (Leicester Tigers), Samu Manoa (Northampton Saints) and Chris Pennell (Worcester Warriors) are the other nominees.
