Saracens captain Steve Borthwick has won his battle to be fit for Saturday's Heineken Cup final and will line up against Toulon at the Millennium Stadium.
The 34-year-old lock suffered a 'significant pectoral injury' against Harlequins last Saturday as Sarries reached the Premiership final but has today been selected by director of rugby Mark McCall.
Borthwick will retire at the end of the current campaign and it had been feared the former England captain had played his last professional match after failing to train up until Thursday.
Now though, Borthwick has been selected by McCall for Saturday's showdown in Cardiff and will start against Northampton Saints in next weekend's Premiership final, if he comes through unscathed against Toulon.
Full Saracens line-up:
15. Goode; 14. Ashton, 13. Bosch, 12. Barritt, 11. Strettle; 10. Farrell, 9. Wigglesworth; 1.M.Vunipola, 2. Brits, 3. Stevens, 4. Borthwick (c), 5. Hargreaves, 6. Brown, 7. Burger, 8.B.Vunipola.
