Having crashed out of the singles competition earlier in the day, Potters Bar's Tara Moore suffered the ignominy of a second Wimbledon exit in a day after a straight-sets defeat in the doubles.

Moore, 21, and Australian-born British partner Johanna Konta were beaten 6-4, 6-4 by Daniela Hantuchova and Mirjana Lucic-Baroni earlier this afternoon.

Defeat in the doubles completes Moore's Wimbledon involvement at the first round stage for the third consecutive year after losing in the first round of the doubles for the past two years and the first round of the singles last year.

Hong Kong-born Moore, who is the current British number six, had pushed Vera Zvoraneva hard in their singles match and was at one stage ahead in the third set before play was suspended due to bad light.

When play resumed, Moore suffered at the hands of the former world number two and eventually went down 4-6, 6-7 (3-7), 9-7.
