Fijian winger Michael Tagicakibau has left Saracens to join RaboDirect Pro 12 side, Parc y Scarlets.

The 29-year-old was a bit-part player at Allianz Park last season, making just seven league appearances for the Premiership and Heineken Cup runners-up.

Originally signed by Sarries in 2009, Tagicakibau returned to the club for the 2013/14 season and made a total of 39 league appearances for the Men in Black in four seasons with the club.

Tagicakibau told the club's website he was excited by the move: “The region has some great players in the backline and I’m really excited about being a part of a club that has a strong ethos of running rugby.

“There’s a young and talented group of guys there that have ensured qualification for the new Rugby Champions Cup for next season and I’m keen to make my mark and help the region with their continued success.”

Scarlets head coach, Simon Easterby, added: “Michael will bring added experience and maturity to the squad; he has great line-breaking ability.

“But more importantly he’s an excellent defender which will complement some of the exciting attacking players we currently have in the back three."

Tagicakibau lists London Welsh and Bristol among his former clubs.
