Barnet have agreed to sign Charlie MacDonald and Bondz N'Gala, both of whom played in the 1-0 win over Stevenage on Tuesday
Barnet have agreed to sign experienced forward Charlie MacDonald and centre-back Bondz N'Gala as Martin Allen continues to re-shape his squad ahead of the new season.
Thirty-three-year-old MacDonald has played in both of the Bees' pre-season fixtures thus far, scoring the winner against Hertfordshire rivals Stevenage on Tuesday evening.
N'Gala, 24, has previously spent time on loan with the Bees and played the last half an hour of the win over Borough.
Most recently of League One side Oldham Athletic, MacDonald boasts plentiful Football League experience, having netted 117 league goals for 12 different clubs.
Speaking after the defeat of Stevenage, Allen said: "Charlie scores goals and when those chances come along, you always need match winners.
"After Jake Hyde left, I thought Jake was going to re-sign for us, so to be able to get Charlie [was good].
"He was just about to sign for Oxford United, it was going to be done the next day but thankfully for us, their manager left, Gary Waddock, and we got Charlie in on the Monday before Oxford got the chance to offer him a deal."
The Southwark-born forward began his professional career with Charlton Athletic but found first-team opportunities at a premium.
Loan stints with Cheltenham Town, Torquay United and Colchester United followed before joining Margate on a free transfer in 2002.
It was with Crawley Town MacDonald re-surfaced, scoring ten times in 27 league starts preceding a move to Ebbsfleet United.
A return of 39 league strikes in 61 starts truly put the 5ft9in forward on the map and paved the way for moves to Southend United and Brentford.
Forty goals in 105 starts for the other Bees and 11 in 38 for the Dons further established MacDonald's goalscoring reputation.
Fifteen league starts and as many substitute outings for League One Oldham saw MacDonald score five times last term, having joined from Leyton Orient.
Meanwhile, centre-back N'Gala made six appearances for the Bees on loan from Stevenage during the latter stages of the 2012/13 campaign.
The centre-back impressed during his stay at Underhill and was recalled by his parent club, who were facing a defensive shortage at the time.
Last season saw N'Gala spent time with League Two side Portsmouth, initially joining the south coast outfit on a month-long deal before extending his contract at Fratton Park.
The former West Ham United trainee, who has also had spells with Plymouth Argyle and Yeovil Town, made 31 appearances for Pompey last term, scoring three goals.
A powerful, commanding centre-half, N'Gala made his Barnet return in Tuesday's 1-0 friendly win over former club Stevenage and formed a solid partnership with David Stephens at the back.
Born in Newham, the six foot defender began his professional career with West Ham but made just substitute appearance in the League Cup, spending time out on loan with Weymouth, MK Dons, Scunthorpe United and Plymouth before joining the Pilgrims on a permanent basis.
The duo become the third and fourth signings of the summer after John Akinde and Sam Muggleton.
