Barnet head coach Martin Allen has named his starting XI and substitutes for this evening's penultimate friendly clash at Margate.

Allen has named a strong XI, which sees ten of the 11 starters contracted to the club, with Gavin Mahon - who is in talks with the Bees over a deal - the exception.

On the eight-strong bench, only former Barnet goalkeeper Sam Cowler is on trial, with young keepers Kai McKenzie-Lyle and Monty George having been named as substitutes in previous pre-season fixtures.

Barnet starting XI: Stack; Yiadom, N'Gala, Saville, Johnson; Marsh-Brown, Mahon, Weston, Luisma; MacDonald & Akinde.

Subs: Stephens, Vilhete, Lowe, Gambin, Muggleton, Sykes, Nurse & Cowler (GK).

Managed by former AFC Wimbledon manager Terry Brown, the Gate currently play in the Ryman Premier Division - two levels below the Bees - finishing 11th last term.

Brown has spent the summer bolstering his side for a promotion tilt, with former Wimbledon forward Luke Moore linking up with his former boss following his release by the Dons.

Another to have followed Brown to Kent is defender Brett Johnson. The vastly experienced 28-year-old can play at either left back or centre-back and has also joined this summer after leaving Woking.

Charlie Allen - son of Bees boss Martin - is also on the books at Hartsdown Park having played under his dad at both Notts County and Gillingham.

Former Brighton and Hove Albion defender Sam Rents is another with Football League experience, whilst Charlie Wassmer was part of Crawley Town's rise from the Conference into the Football League before leaving in 2012.

Pre-season results have been encouraging for Brown and co., with a Wolverhampton Wanderers XI dispatched with 5-1 in their last run-out and League Two Wimbledon soundly beaten 3-0 earlier in the summer.
