London Broncos have signed promising youngster Alex Walker on a one-year first team contract.

The 18-year-old linked up with the first team squad earlier this month from the Under-19s team, having recently completed his studies.

Walker has previously played rugby league at Brentwood and Newham Dockers before joining the London Broncos youth system.

"It's great that these young guys have signed up to the club, I see them all as a big part of my first team squad moving forward over the next two seasons,” head coach Joe Grima told the club's website.

“Alex Walker will train with the first team but continue playing for the Under-19s this season.”

Head of youth Darren Higgins added: "Alex has had an outstanding season in the Under-19s and demonstrates the high levels of professionalism and attitude that we are looking for in our players.

"I'm delighted that his attitude, commitment and hard work have been recognised and rewarded with a full-time contract.”
