London Broncos have signed French international William Barthau from Catalan Dragons on a two-year deal ahead of the 2015 season.

The 24-year-old half-back began his professional career with the Dragons in 2009 after progressing through the club's academy setup.

An eight-cap French international, Barthau represented Les Tricolores at the 2013 Rugby League World Cup in the UK.

Speaking to the club's website, Barthau said: “The challenge is to get into the top four and then play four Super League clubs to show we are ready to play in Super League again.

“I know that I can play my part in helping the club achieve this.”

Broncos head coach Joey Grima added: “I'm pleased we've secured William as he will fit into one of our key positions on the field.

“He should link up well with both Ray Nasso and Ben Farrar who he knows from their time in France.”

Meanwhile, both Maxime Herold and James Duckworth have been released from their contracts.
