Barnet head coach Martin Allen has a virtually fully-fit squad to choose from against Lincoln City on Saturday after revealing forward Iffy Allen has returned to full training after suffering a leg break in pre-season.

The 20-year-old forward suffered a fracture of his fibula in July and was expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s visit from Lincoln City, head coach Allen revealed the Lambeth-born forward had returned to first-team training.

He told the club’s website: “All of the players are fit and well. Young Iffy Allen has also now started running which has been a big boost, not only for him but also for all of our first team squad being able to see Iffy back out with us in the fresh air on the training pitch.”

Looking ahead to Saturday’s visit from the Imps, Allen outlined his confidence in the group of players at his disposal.

He said: “We have now got a very good squad of players, several of whom have been doing very well in training but have not been playing.

“I am really looking forward to Saturday’s game. All of the players in the squad are ready to go in and play in a successful team. I am convinced that all of the squad are ready.”

The two sides drew twice last season, with a 1-1 draw at The Hive preceding an entertaining final-day 3-3 draw at Sincil Bank.

Barnet head into the game having won both of their opening Conference fixtures, scoring seven goals without reply in wins over Chester and Bristol Rovers.

As a result, the Bees sit atop of the Conference, with Gary Simpson’s Imps eight places lower in the table after a win and a draw from their first two fixtures.

Simpson will be without two players – full-back Tom Miller and utility man Todd Jordan – and is expected to name the same starting XI which beat Altrincham on Tuesday night to claim Lincoln’s first win of the fledgling season.
