Barnet will look to build on their 2-0 win at Nuneaton Town on Saturday when they host another winless side, Dartford, at The Hive this afternoon (3pm).

After the disappointment of their first league defeat at home to Lincoln City two Saturdays ago, Martin Allen’s side responded in perfect fashion against the Boro, running in two early goals in a strong showing.

The win at Liberty Way leaves the Bees in fourth place with nine points from their opening four matches – three points behind currrent league-leaders Halifax Town, who boast a 100 per cent record at this stage.

For Tony Burman’s Darts, the tale is somewhat different. Winless and with only two goals in four matches, the Kent outfit are perched a place above the relegation zone after two draws and two defeats from their opening fixtures.

A draw against relegated Torquay United on Saturday was creditable but a missed penalty from skipper Elliot Bradbrook saw the visitors leave Plainmoor ruining a missed opportunity to get up-and-running for the season.

The demand of two matches in three days so early in the season is significant for all sides in the Conference but particularly for part-time sides such as Dartford.

Speaking on Saturday, Burman highlighted the reality of the schedule for the Darts: "It’s a tough place to go," he told Kent online. "At least it’s a Sunday (between games), which is a day of rest, so the guys aren’t going to work the next day and then play on the Monday.

“We’re all in the same boat with what we can do for the next 36 hours.”

The former Darts striker added: "We’ll go to Barnet and we’ll give a good account of ourselves. We want to go there and try to get some points and that’s what we’ll do. Whatever team I put out, we’ll have a good go at it.”
