Anthony Joshua fights for the first time in Manchester this weekend as he takes on Konstantin Airich at the Phones 4u Arena on Saturday.

Since turning professional, Joshua, pictured, has won all seven of his professional fights by knock out.

Airich should provide the 24-year-old, who previously trained at Finchley ABC, with a sterner test. The Kazakh-born German heavyweight has a wealth of experience, with 21 wins from 35 fights.

He’s forced Odlanier Solis and Denis Bakhtov the full distance and reached the semi-finals of the Prizefighter International Heavyweights at Alexandra Palace in May 2011.

Joshua, who recently spent time sparring with Wladimir Klitschko, will then face Denis Bakhtov at the O2 Arena on Saturday, October 11, for the WBC International Heavyweight title.

“Having fights lined up in advance just shows me how confident certain people around me are,” Joshua said.

“Boxing is a long career and you are only as good as your last fight, so I want to keep progressing and doing so in a good fashion. I've just got to keep on winning.”
