Muhammad Arshad made Middlesex County League history on Saturday and ensured his Finchley side remained in Division One after they defeated Teddington by 19 runs.

Finchley were inserted after losing the toss but went on to post a strong total of 213 for six before declaring.

George Charlton top-scored with a superb knock of 89 while Niraj Jadav struck 40. Arshad then took centre stage with the ball. He took all ten wickets for 72 and became only the second player in Middlesex League history to have claimed all the opposition wickets.

It meant Teddington were skittled for 194 and that was enough to keep Finchley in the division.

Potters Bar ended their disappointing Herts Cricket League Premier Division campaign with a 51-run win against Reed.

Bar batted first and set a total of 218 for six. That proved too much for Reed to chase down and they were all out for 167.
