Hendon Seconds thrashed Barnet Seconds 44-10 in the Herts-Middlesex Merit Table League Three.

The Hendon forwards provided the winning formula against a depleted Barnet outfit who lost several players only hours before kick-off to their first team.

Roddy Walsh got Hendon off the mark with a try coming from a maul to the line after four minutes.

The same move soon after saw Aiden Power touch down to put Hendon 12-0 ahead. Barnet replied by scoring two unconverted tries to haul themselves back within two points of the visitors.

Another Hendon drive over was deemed to be held up but, from the following scrum, Hendon pushed over for Brian O’Regan to collect and score.

Hendon finished the first half 22-10 up when Mick Hill scored off the back of a driving maul.

The visitors’ dominance continued after the break, with tries from Alex Whittaker and Aiden Powell pushing the score out to 32-10.

Andrew Walsh and Adam Johnson then got in on the act to give Hendon maximum points and a resounding win.
