David Hunt is still expected to extend his loan at Barnet after head coach Martin Allen spoke to Oxford United staff last week.

The U's sent a development team to The Hive on Tuesday and beat a young Barnet XI 4-0 in a friendly clash.

And Allen, who was in attendance along with player-coach Graham Stack, used the opportunity to discuss the future of utility man Hunt.

Speaking on Tuesday, Allen said: "I spoke to the Oxford staff last week at the development game and there are happy for him to stay with us. Apart from an injury crisis at Oxford, Hunty will be staying with us.

"I have spoken to Hunty and he is happy to play. I am happy with the role he has played."

The 32-year-old joined the Bees from the League Two side at the end of October until the end of January.

A former Conference winner with Crawley Town, Hunt has made 12 appearances - predominantly in midfield - though his experience off the field is highly valued by Allen too.
