Saracens' Alex Goode will make his first start for England since the 2013 Six Nations after being selected in head coach Stuart Lancaster's XV to face Ireland on Sunday.

The 26-year-old will start at full-back after Harlequins' Mike Brown missed out as he recovers from concussion suffered in the win over Italy.

Goode has 16 England caps, the last of which was won against Wales a year ago. The Cambridge-born fly-half played in the Red Rose's 12-6 win over Ireland in 2013.

Jack Nowell is the other change to Lancaster's team and speaking to the RFU website, he explained the decisions: “Alex is in good form for Saracens and has been training well over the last few weeks, as has Jack, who is also playing well for Exeter.

“Both have been pushing hard for selection and I am sure will seize their chance against a high quality Ireland side."

Saracens' George Kruis and Billy Vunipola also start for England at the Aviva Stadium, whilst Richard Wigglesworth and Mako Vunipola are named amongst the replacements.
