London Broncos head coach Andrew Henderson has strengthened his squad with the signing of versatile Welsh international Elliot Kear until the end of the 2016 season.

Kear, 26, previously played rugby union at London Welsh and in the Super League for Bradford Bulls and Crusaders and Championship for South Wales Scorpions.

“I’m really pleased to sign the contract and come back to rugby league,” said Kear. “I’m just really excited to get back on the field.

“I’ve felt like I’ve fitted in really well, I know a few of the boys from playing against them over the years and everyone has been really welcoming.”

“The team spirit is really good, with some good wins. You can see the confidence is there and everyone enjoys each other’s company which is a big thing too. First things first, I just want to get into the team and play the best I can for the club.”

Henderson added: “It’s a great signing for the club. I’m pleased we’ve managed to get Kear across the line. What he will bring is a vast amount of experience at Super League level and Championship level from when he was first starting out.

"He knows what this level of football is about as well. He’s a Welsh international too so he’s played at the highest level and some of the biggest stages in the World.

“The good thing about Kear is that he’s versatile so he can cover full-back, wing and can fill in at centre too, which is another reason I wanted to bring him in. It puts pressure on the guys already in the jersey and adds that much more competition for places."

Kear will be available for selection for this Sunday’s home game at The Hive against Dewsbury Rams.
