Wingate & Finchley will look to end the season by clinching a top-half spot after ending a three-game losing streak with a 4-1 beating of Bognor Regis Town.

It was visiting Bognor who went in front when Ollie Pearce finished well after Terry Todd intercepted a loose pass.

But the Blues, who this week announced joint manager Dave Norman will leave at the end of the season, hit back in style in the second period.

Twenty-nine goal top-scorer David Knight sounded the warning by tackling Bognor goalkeeper Chris Winterton before Tommy Tejan-Sie fired home the equaliser.

Knight then made it 2-1 with 18 minutes to go before Brad Hewitt turned home his first goal for the club by meeting Knight’s free-kick delivery.

And the 14-minute blitz was complete with eight minutes to play as Knight latched onto Sogbanmu’s pass and lobbed in the fourth goal for his side.

Wingate complete their league campaign at Canvey Island on Saturday.

Edgware Town’s stunning run of form shows no sign of abating after picking up their sixth straight win by beating Bedford 3-1.

The Spartan South Midlands Division One side sealed the win with a brace from Adam Ali and one from Bilal Butt.

On Saturday the Wares play their penultimate fixture of the season at Bush Hull Rangers.
