Having won the Conference for a record third time, Barnet have been well represented on the shortlists for the National Game Awards, with five nominations.

Thirty-one-goal-top-scorer John Akinde is up for the Player of the Year award and faced competition from Bristol Rovers’ Tom Parkes, Grimsby Town’s Carl Magnay, Woking’s Scott Rendell, Forest Green Rovers’ Jon Parkin and Bromley’s Jack Holland.

In the Young Player of the Year category, all-action full-back Andy Yiadom earns the first of two nominations.

The former Watford youngster is up against Omar Bogle of Solihull Moors, Boreham Wood’s Lee Angol, Braintree Town’s Simeon Akinola and Bristol Rovers duo Tom Lockyer and Parkes.

Guiding the Bees to the Conference title was, unsurprisingly, enough to land Martin Allen a place on the Manager of the Year shortlist.

The Bees head coachis up against Billy Heath of FA Trophy winners North Ferriby United, FC United of Manchester’s Karl Marginson, Macclesfield Town boss John Askey, Rovers’ Darrell Clarke and Chris Kinnear of Dover Athletic.

Graham Stack is included on the shortlist for the Goalkeeper of the Year and is up against North Ferriby’s Adam Nicklin, FC United’s Dave Carnell, Lee Worgan of Maidstone United, Altrincham’s Stuart Coburn and Grimsby Town gloveman James McKeown.

Finally, Yiadom is also up for the FA England ‘C’ Player of the Year. He battles it out against international team-mates Marc Roberts (FC Halifax Town), Elliott Frear (Forest Green Rovers) and Lee Brown (Bristol Rovers).

Voting is open until Friday, May 8. To vote you can either email ngavotes@greenwaypublishing.com, tweet @nonleaguepaper using the hashtag #NGAVotes or via the Non-League Paper’s Facebook page.
